The North Dakota Department of Human Services' Behavioral Health Division applied for and received the SAMHSA Emergency Grant to Address Mental and Substance Use Disorders during COVID-19 in April 2020. The grant provides $2 million for sixteen months to support the needs of individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or individuals with both mental illness and substance use disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic impacts have been significant for many North Dakotans. These grants to addiction and mental health providers will provide an opportunity to increase vital behavioral health services in our state.
